| And to think of all the places I've been this past year. I always wore my MoGro shirt through the airports and never thought to have any pics taken. Which reminds me, I don't know how you guys keep up with all the traveling! I've just had a brief taste this past week covering four states and 5 other states since March with one of them across the warmer pond. I get wore out just remembering it. How do you guys do it??? |

So I'm messing around on the computer and my daughter, almost 7, is dancing in the same room with a stuffed animal. I've got the "Upbeat" playlist going mixing up songs and blasting the house. She calls out in short breath while gettin' jiggy widdit, "Play Mother Grove!" I say, "Wait a minute, this is Prince."
"MOM! I can't dance to this! I need Mother Grove!" I think yeah, she's right.... we don't have enough MoGro....time to switch playlists. "Good call" I say and I switch it over to her favorite song that she calls the Oh Yeah song (Beltane). Well, I mis-fingered on the keyboard and somehow jumped to Eric Clapton's Tears in Heaven after Beltane got going. She stopped dead in her tracks and made quite the priceless face, "MOM! Play Mother Grove! Play them all! You gotta stop messing with me like that. You don't understand!! I have to dance!"
Oh but I do understand, young one. I understand completely.
That's my girl!!
As a wise man once said... "Jump back I'm gonna do my thing. I'm gonna stand up tall and spread my wings. Nobody gonna break my stride....." |

| I agree with ya girl. Problem is, the ad is done and if I run it again, I'm down $112 although I can cut it down and get it cheaper. That amount off of what I'd get from the drums and it's very upside down. I also have to consider do I want to gamble on a sale to gain money or count on a lesser amount of money by not running an ad? Normally I'd take the gamble a little more but with Yule around the corner, it's time to play it safe. Eh, maybe they're afraid I put a curse on the drums or something. LOL Where's my graveyard dust?? /snicker |

So I'm trying to sell my drum kit and all drum-related things that I have so I put an ad in two newspapers and I ran it for 8 days. I got a few responses and two calls actually came to look at the kit in person after seeing the pictures on the web. Both sets of viewers consisted of a man, his wife and a teenaged son for whom the drums were to be purchased.
First set of people: Asking lots of questions, seemed very interested. They actually had a good plan. The boy was to pay for the kit himself and if he's still playing after 3 years, the dad will reimburse him. That way the dad wouldn't lose money again on yet another thing the boy showed interest in and set aside after a few months. We got to talking about the color and I mentioned how the shells seem to change color depending on the lighting. I said I'd try to give an example so I go behind the bar to turn on other lights. As I'm coming back around the bar I notice the guy pointing to his neck then towards me and mouthing words to his wife. She looks at me noticeably and he quits. Then he kinda stammers as he says, "We'll talk about it and pray about it and if we call you back you'll know we're interested." They couldn't leave fast enough.
A few days later the second set of people come: Similar to before with the questions and it was obvious the gentleman was somewhat knowledgable about drums based on his observances of other drum kits and drummers although he's not a drummer himself. I noticed the guy looking me over a bit and I thought his eyes kept landing on my chest but that doesn't make sense for reasons obvious to me. Just trust me on that. He quit eyeing me when he started talking about church and worship. I figured it was good that he remembered his religion and used it as a catalyst to stop ogling another woman. The more he talked about church, the more in a hurry he was to leave. I figured maybe they were late for a church gathering or something and was trying to drop hints to his wife that they had to go.
Yeah, I'm pretty dense sometimes. It was my necklace that got their attention. I'm sure of it because it all fits too perfectly. I didn't think about it beforehand. My necklace and my lifestyle is just as normal to me as yours is to you.
Non-Christians are VERY uncommon in my town of Columbus, IN. Ever since Brenda moved, I can't say I know of another one. There used to be two others that I used to work with but they have moved, too. Yet another witch/pagan who owned a pagan supply shop with her sister moved away after the older sister suffered a nervous breakdown which was highly brought upon by the harassment that the town and local government gave her for her shop and it's pagan items. (Poor Ricci.../sobs) They were pretty relentless to her and her sister and I only know a small portion of what happened.
So, if anyone who isn't prejudice against a good witch and is interested in a drum kit with LOTS of extras, or knows someone who is, please send them my way. My contact info is on the page I made for the drums (pictures and list of what's included). Although the price is stated firmly at $500, anyone who contacts me and states they were referred by MoGro or a friend of MoGro, I will work with them on the price.
And for the hard-core MoGro fan, Ron has played on these drums a few times as he was my latest teacher. I will HIGHLY recommend him as a drum instructor. He is so patient, intelligent, experienced, and seems to instinctively know how to explain and demonstrate things so I'd get it. If he can teach me, he can teach anyone. I learned more from him in two lessons than I did from my first drum teacher over six months! The autographed stick I have from Ron is not included in the set. It's a stick he used for their performances and broke it the night of Jan. 6 at Fionn MacCool's. |

Laura suggested I posted this. It's a copy and paste from an email I sent to her. A little clarification here....when others are asleep, I play the music thru the stereo but when they're up, I use earbuds so the music doesn't interfere with whatever they're watching/listening to.
Wanna hear something weird? I have over 2,500 songs on my iPod play list that I have on shuffle in my sewing studio (when I'm not listening to an audio book). When I'm working on something for someone else and decide to change projects, I'll think, "Maybe I should do a Laura project." Right as I think that, a MoGro song will come on....every time. It used to be freaky but now I'm used to it and accept the messages that the universe decides to send and I appreciate them. Sometimes I'll start the music then go off to other rooms to get my stuff brought into the studio such as a drink, snack, etc while mentally preparing to work on something for you from the beginning. When I come back into room, it is not at all uncommon for the song to be MoGro. One time that really stands out was when my daughter, close to 7 years old, came in the room and interrupted me taking out the stitches on the jeans for the brocade. I was getting frustrated because there were so many stitches to take out and I had already sliced my fingers up with the seam ripper (they were very tight stitches!) and the more band-aids I had, the more awkward it was to work the seam ripper. So she comes in and I pull the ear buds out at my favorite part of "Comfortably Numb" to listen to her. After her diatribe, she looked at what I was doing and said, "MOMMY! What on Earth are you doing? Who made you mad?" I laughed and told her what I was doing, I showed her the pretty brocade and told her of the plan as I was inserting reminders that she had to leave me be so I could finish. She asked if you were going to like it. I said I hoped so and to go play so I could get back to it. As I put my ear buds in, she was saying as she left, "I hope you're right." I called to her, "Of course I'm right. I'm the mom." The very next thing I hear is Brad singing, "Oh yeah....oh yeah" Yep, I miss my MoGro.

Yeah, I gotta see that Laura. From what I've seen of Aya, he looks fine. If they have a Scotish accent and look dirty and homeless, all I have to say is a quote from Beavis & Butthead. "Bathe them, and bring them to me." |

| That sounds cool Lady Di! My hubby's birthday is Jan. 5th and it's likely that we'll go to an Indy show for his b-day and we can celebrate together! And I'm envious of you turning 50. I firmly believe that life truly begins at 50. Then you know who you are, where you're going and can appreciate where you've been. I can't wait! |

Wow, what a great read and I'm only half done with it! Thanks for the links, Brad! This should be published in many newspapers and magazines. You have such wonderful, unique and insightful things to say!
EDIT: Apologize in advance for some of your regulars? BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA That was probably a good move. |
