Laura's Solo CD

For those who've been asking about one of these - it's finally happening.  Approx. 12-16 original songs are in selection for the final cut, and about 6 songs are completely ready for the studio.  Here's hoping to get this out between March and May of 2008!

This CD will also feature a good friend of mine, Jen - from "Wild Mercy" (http://www.wildmercy.com/) and "Alair" (http://www.alairmusic.com/) on keys, harp, and vocals.

Keep your eyes peeled for additional updates as I've got 'em!

Song selection has been narrowed to approximately 14 at the moment.  That total will only decrease if I don't feel that things are coming together in the studio for that particular song.

Things are coming along nicely, for recording some of the instrumentalists long distance!  I thank GOD for the wonders of digital music and pro tools!   Grin

Here's hoping I can kick my terminal sore throat that's been plaguing me for the past 2-3 weeks so I can finally get back in the studio to record the last scratch tracks so we can start with drum / guitar final tracks ASAP.

Been listening to the tracks. Great stuff.

I'm looking forward to putting my production "mojo" on the CD.

I have lots of ideas swimming 'round this little noggin o'mine.  Wink

The CD needs a duet. heh heh.

I have a song in the works I was gonna pitch to you. The concept is very cool, I think.
Remember when I suggested you and I do a CD together, stripped down acoustic guitars, violin and vocals? I started writing songs for that, but our paths went different directions.

Someday.  Wink

I have my studio up and running now. Maybe I'll start laying down the tracks for you to listen to?

President's Day this past Monday was also a recording day for my solo CD.  Spent about 7 hours at the Hightower Studios laying down some sweet fiddle and some vocals.  Kudos to Jim for managing to record only my vocal / fiddle and NOT recording the nasty 40 mph wind that was whipping around the studio outside!   Wink

Song list still in flux - one song out and another one in - but still right around 14.  I'll keep you posted.... Wink
